Glass Railing does not have any space between them and they do not have edges like cable railing. But there is threat that kids might crash into the glass railing unknowingly while playing or elderly people might walk into it without noticing. Either way as long as proper care is taken both the railing systems are safe to use.

Maintenance:

Maintenance is a key factor that cannot be overlooked when choosing a deck railing. The longevity of the railing depends on its maintenance. If you are unable to concentrate on maintenance, then the railing can get damaged or broken due to various external factors. In order to avoid such conditions always select a deck railing system that is easy to maintain. Both glass and cable railing system require less maintenance compared to wooden railing system.

Cost:

The cost of the railing is one of the reasons for people considering cable and glass railing system. Cable railing is cheaper than glass railing in terms of price.  Though glass is a bit costlier, people go for it due to the elegance it adds to the property. In terms cost of cable railing is preferred by majority of building owners.

Though all the 3 types are widely used wood is mainly preferred in case of cottages, metal is preferred due to its various styles and design and concrete posts are used for corner or end posts.
